Texas Tech
For the first time, GameDay is at TTU! Kirk and Lee showed up on campus as we were checking out the scene after lunch at One Guy’s. We plan on being there at 7 AM tomorrow. GameDay airs at 9 AM tomorrow morning! Obviously this isn’t the greatest picture, but that it Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreet and some guy’s giant head.
It was good to see alot of old friends this weekend. Josh and Jesse flew in from Arizona and Indiana and of course the usuals were in for the weekend’s game. The game ended up being very exciting near the end with Texas Tech holding off Nebraska in overtime. The game shouldn’t have been near as close as it was, so I’m more relived than anything else. Tech is still #7 in the AP poll and has moved to #5 in the coach’s poll!
The Red Raiders are heading into the Kansas State game ranked #7 in the AP poll, the highest ranking since 1976. They open up big 12 conference play today with a 4-0 record, although they have yet to play a formidable opponent. The game should be exciting and is on ABC this afternoon. We’ll be watching at the Odorizzi’s Octoberfest party. Wreck’em!
Just had a professor practically hand me the test for tomorrow. He actually took 20 minutes to go over all the class slides and point out exactly which ones we needed to know for the exam. He told us exactly how many multiple choice questions were coming from each chapter, not to read the book because it was just “supplemental,” and that as long as we read the introductions to the “research articles” we would get the one question dedicated to them correct. Why can’t all professors be like this guy? It sure is a nice change of pace from some of my accounting/finance graduate professors who insisted on teaching “ABC’s” while testing “Advanced Quantum Hieroglyphics.”
